OK, I see. As an action after the image was originally taken. Thanks for clarifying. I doubt though whether that would work at all - if you changed the size of the receiving partition.

Again, I am assuming that the image will force itself onto the disk and take up the original space and destroying any partition in the way.

Jim, I am not sure. Free Macrium is very iffy if the receiving partition is smaller than the originating partition. So I assume it honors partition bounderies.

Verify In Mac 5.0

Huffman------------ You can set a verify when you create the image by advanced options --> auto verify. I have it set for all my backups.

I will NOT use Macrium v5 for any reason. I have now installed Acronis and Macrium v4.2. I have confidence in both of these and have used both to restore images in the past and have NOT had any problems with either of them.

Macrium v5 is a dead issue for me. Thanks for all the responses.

As long as you are happy that's fine.

The big picture is that this is a support forum staffed by volunteers. Macrium V5 would be used by a very large number of users and teasing out any issues has a broader impact.
