Mass Effect 3 Minimizing-Maximizing

Hello everyone. I've recently encountered a strange thing while playing ME3 on my Windows 7 laptop. I'm a big fan of the series and I've played 1 and 2 with no problems at all. However, there's an issue going with ALT+Tabbing. I know some games are not meant to work this way but that is a really strange case. I could minimize Mass Effect 1, the full window restoration would take some time though. I could also minimize ME2 and restore it in mere seconds. Mass Effect 3, I just can't restore it. It stays on the taskbar, I can click it endlessly but it won't come up. And right when I thought this is a one-game issue, I accidentally tried again and it worked. I could minimize/restore Mass Effect 3 in a couple seconds. But it only worked this one time. I'm not sure if there's any trick there, my drivers are fine and I can play the game but this issue is annoying and if there's a way to bypass/fix it, I would like to know. Thank you.

There's usually not a way to fix alt-tabbing video games. Like you said, some engines just don't support it, while some GPUs make matters worse even for games that can do this.

I myself don't have a problem with ME games when alt-tabbing, even ME3, so it might just be your laptop's GPU

Yea, I figured it must be me since other people had no problems at all. I am just wondering if there's a known way to make it work.. I must have done some magic trick that one time that it worked, I just don't know what, heh.. I'll probably just redownload my drivers. Thank you for your reply.

Ive actually ALT+Tabbed out several times and had no issue here.
I know that doesn't help, and Im not exactly sure what the cause would be. Only that it will work.

Perhaps try a different method of bringing it back up.
ALT+TAB again, rather than clicking the Window OR
WINDOWS Key +Tab

The Windows key doesn't work. Just tested. Alt+Tab to exit, Alt+Tab again to reenter the window works perfect for me. This might be an issue with your hardware not being able to quickly switch back to the high resource munching window of Mass Effect 3. Try closing everything on your laptop and only running the game and see if it works.

Sorry I've taken a few days to reply. I managed to fix the problem just by updating my drivers. Pretty shady but yes. It works like a charm.

Thank you a lot for your replies though. :)

what drivers did you update so if others looking around that have the same problem and stumble upon this thread can see how you fixed it and possibly help others with this issue in the future.
