Got myself an x9 for christmas, went to put it on my Desktop (Win7 64bit) and the backlighting turned on but the keyboard would not respond to typing. Went and tried it on my Thinkpad x131e (Windows 8) and it works perfectly on there.

Ok the keyboard is working, good. Now time to fix it on my desktop.

Uninstalled my old keyboard drivers (K120 Logitech,) restarted, then plugged in the x9. Hardware found noise turns on. Searches for drivers, done. Try to type with it, doesn't work.

If I navigate to Start -> Control Panel -> Devices and Printers I see a device called "Gaming Keyboard" which is the x9 with a (!) trouble shoot icon. If I run through the troubleshooting it searches for the drivers but it cannot find them. Turned off my firewall, removed MSE and turned off defender, uninstalled my virus checkers. Nothing, still doesn't want to fetch the drivers.

I don't have a massive knowledge of computers so any help from you guys would be fully appreciated!

*added* I've contacted customer support as well but although they are pretty helpful I don't think they've encountered this problem before and they are throwing me in circles.

I have the X8 and I don't remember having that problem, as it should work when you plug it up. Have you tried plugging it into different USB ports on your desktop?

Here is a link with a User Guide, Data Sheet and Software for programmable keys, etc.

Edit: Have you restarted the desktop, with the keyboard plugged up, and let it boot back into windows?

Yeah it says right on the FAQ that it is PNP, I have tried all the USB 2.0 ports on my machine with the same results. I added a screen shot from my device manager if that explains the problem any better.

I actually ended up installing that programmable software thinking it was drivers when it wasn't working, but it's just for macros and it did not fix it.

Just did a reboot with it plugged in, let it load up, then no dice. Still won't fetch the drivers.
