The windows 10 free upgrade is coming to an end this Friday! Maybe then the MS servers will be able to let the Windows 7 users get their updates without having to wait hours & hours, or not get them at all!! It will be interesting to see if a lot of the update issues we have been seeing in W7 will go away after 7/29.

Baloney!

It's nothing to do with MS Servers. If you have to wait hours for updates then there's a problem with your machine. (Missing or corrupt updates)

See: http://www.sevenforums.com/network-...-what-initiating-post3266741.html#post3266741

So Microsoft uses a content delivery network with servers all over the world to distribute updates. For me the server used is only a few miles away.

I've done too many windows 7 installations for what you said to be true. I've had computers that I had to let run all night to get the updates, and they eventually got them without having to "fix" anything on the computer. MS was just plain slow.

A few months ago I was having update problems. I let Windows update run overnight and installed updates. Since then it has been working with no problems at all. If you are having problems it is a local issue.

Hi,
I would get your hopes up too high :)
I see no real reason MS would stop the free upgrade
I smell an extension
I don't believe the numbers are quite what they were hoping for although not bad
I'm sure some new polling will appear pretty soon

Many were just thrown into the Non genuine category which is good for win-10 numbers too :)

Updating though has been fun no doubt about it
I always like it best when 1 or 2 out of 3 of my machines work flawlessly and the others don't and I have excluded the same updates from installing
