Solved mcafee internet sercurity 2013 install problem

hi all
wonder if anyone can help
im tryin to install a mcafee cd to update my 2012 copy but it seems to crash.
i only get as far putting the cd in then it scans quick then it crashes error says " mcafee master installer has stopped working"

any idea why this keeps happening . it installed ok on my pc but its my laptop it crashes on

is it because it could be AVG stopping it ?

Be more specific please. Can't you uninstall AVG?

Maybe better:
  • uninstall AVG. Reboot
  • uninstall mcafee. Reboot
  • install mcafee 2013

Yes, uninstall all virusscanners and reboot. Then install 1 virusscanner
