I've got some CDs which I bought in the 80s and they are in excellent condition.

However, WMP12 won't play them. They play slow and jittery. Ripping is out of the question too.

Newly menufactured CDs are fine. Any ideas?

Do they play correctly in a normal CD player?

Can you rip the cd with your other PC?

For that particular CD, I would rip it on your old PC, transfer the MP3's to a USB drive and then transfer that to your main PC. It sounds like the drive doesn't like that particular CD.

I suggesat that you download and install any one of the following free media players in order of preference.

KMPlayer
GOM Media Player
VLC Media Player

They try and play old CDAs. They should play.
