Yea but how would it know where the #2 bat is?

and two which one is the command to rename the jpg to folder.jpg?

That is after they are moved.

But mostly IF I could just stop it from moving the bat to start with there woulnt need to be another bat

I came up with a clever little way to exploit the rotating backdrops in MB.
All I did was create a folder called it Photos For MB and then copied in a few of my most used picture folders,
Then moved in a batch file that I had a friend at the 7Forum put together for me as I requested "Thanks Zay"
and run the bat file and all of the images will be renamed to backdrop, bacdrop1, backdrop2 ect. and the very first image in the folder will be renamed folder.jpg, for the thumb nail view.
So if you have one pic that you want as the thumb just rename it "1" and run the bat file and that's it.

Just Show MB the Photos For MB and then you can open the folder and just hover over any folder and the backdrops will steady sit and cycle through them!
Its so easy!!! and it works check it out!!

This first image is a animated.png that if viewed with FireFox or Safari it will come to life!
Photos%20in%20MB.png

6-24-2009%206-41-26%20AM.png
6-24-2009%206-45-00%20AM.png

Note:
If at first the images dont cycle just enter the folder count to three and back out again and MB should cache the images and start rotating!!

Here is the Rename Batch File

So one more quick time over it,
Create a folder copy any photos folders you want to the newly Created one,
Then place the batch file in the folder with your pictures and choose your thumb, rename it 1 just to make sure it gets bumped to the top!
And run the Bat and then move on to the next one!!

After your done show MB the newly created folder and your off!!

Enjoy All
DemonSeed

P.S.
If you try it out and like the results, Let Me Know!!
I just love FEED BACK!!!:cool:

Good work DS, and thanks for the props. Uh yeah, where my scale tipper, lol, JK. So I could not get IE to run the png files animated, so I decided to find a portable browser that can do it. Here is the link for anyone that wants it. There is no installation required, simply extract the file, and run the browser from there. Then just copy and paste the link from the thread with the animated pics that DemonSeed is posting, and watch them move.

Oh, yeah DS, I see someone beat me at mentioning using snagit or Camtasia. I use camtasia a lot, love it.

What version of Camtasia are you using? Lol, thanks for the scale tipper.
@ Orbital Shark: If I get back in time, maybe I can write a script to search thru all your folders and rename to folder.jpg Let me know what you need. I will try to help if I have time.

Camtasia Studio 5. Why you have the newer one?

Orbit you do know that Tyborgs StarkCovers will do that same thing and a whole lot more in like 2min. It may not be the same exact case but the end result is 98% the same.

What I see your wanting a jpg as the final result, Stark will feed you pngs. Are you using them for MB or MC?
MB will see the png files but media center will not so it wont work with the DVD Library.

Cheers DemonSeed, i'll have a look at Tyborg's app. I can't get the latest MB working on 7MC (7260 x86) so i'm just using the Movie Library for now.

I'll post the results after i've used Tyborg's app :D

DS - the pics work good except that they need to be resized for MB. It would be very cool if on a detailed view I could see the properties of the photos, and metadata. I guess to see thumbnails each pic would have to be in it's own folder.
Pretty cool non the less.

I would ask this next question somewhere else if this is wrong place for it. I usually watch my films straight from files, but now getting MB set-up I want to use it.
Well when I go to play a film i can only here audio, no video than it crashes and restarts. I can see trailers no problem - They are usually .mov files however. I only installed sharks codec pack, and can watch all these films using KM player as well as wmp.
Tried to reinstall sharks cdoecs and did not change anything.
Any ideas appreciated. Thanks

It sound like its ether the codices or the install its self. Try removing MB then starting over and see if it does any better.
