Memory Decreasing Rapidly

Hello, well y was on my computer yesterday and i noticed my computer's memory is decreasing for no given reason, i checked it again today and noticed it decreased again. I'm really worry and what is happening i'm not sure if it's a virus that i have on my computer. I checked with my Antivirus program (Bitdefender 2012) and it said no viruses.I haven't download to many program, and i stop download programs 2 weeks ago, so im not sure what it might be. Well i'm hoping you guys can solve my doubt. Thanks

Can you give a little more detail? Memory refers to RAM, though I suspect you are actually talking about hard drive space. I'd like to be sure before giving a bunch of advice which may be going down the wrong path altogether.

Whether it's the hard drive or actually the RAM, a screenshot of what you're seeing on your end would help, too.

This is quite often due to malware.

Use Windows Defender Offline. Run Full scan. Scan all drives. This will not be quick, but will be sure.

What is Windows Defender Offline?

Do not use the computer unless absolutely, absolutely necessary. The problem will only get worse.

The most likely reason is a backup. If you have enabled Windows Backup or have a different backup program those files will consume diskspace.

As part of your education, I suggest you try using win 7 to make a system image backup to the same hard disk as the one on which Win 7 is installed.

I am not certain what your post is suppose to mean. I am certain you can make a system image to the same drive as the one where Windows 7 is installed. I wouldn't advise it, but it most certainly can be done: Perhaps the native application included with Windows 7 doesn't allow it, I've never tried using it, but 3rd party software will. Additionally, I never stated that the OP was making an image of the disk, merely backing it up on the same drive.

I can see you have been posting in this forum for a while and are knowledge and obviously, by your post, believe you are superior to me. However, I have never found insults to be the basis for helpful or meaingful instruction.

As part of your education, I suggest you jump off that high horse!

OK, I should have stopped while I was ahead and left it at "you can backup files" to the same drive. Which was what I stated in my first post.

Now for part 2; it's getting late and I am tired and confused "drive" with "disk" when I said you can make a system image. I was thinking of a partition on the same disk which can have an image.

I will not be giving you any further compliments tonight...
