Memory use high

Hi, I am experiencing some problems with my system. I have a WIN7 64bit, 6-core AMD 3.30Ghz, 10GB RAM with 354GB free of a 1.3TB HD.

I am having memory problems which I don't remember being that bad. I run music production software and i'm noticing the strain on my system with lagging when it reads system files.

My sidebar info has my cpu running between 3-10% which is good, but my memory runs at 38-60%.
I set the System properties > advanced > performance > advanced; setting to these.
Adjust 4 best perf. of: Programs (and that's when it started reading the RAM @ 38% from higher #s).
The virtual memory, total paging file size is set to 254MB. On C: drive, it's set to custom 64MB - 55600MB
These space available on C: is 363535 MB

I also have 78 services running. I was trying to disable most of them, but I need to read a list of safe services that take a lot of RAM which I Can disable. I need some suggestions, tips or tweaks I can do to these settings which will give me more ram for when I run my memory hogging music programs.

Hello and welcome Er0sNY now 10GB of RAM is ok but an odd number to me at least and I am wondeing if the sticks of RAM are all running the same timings. To check that out run PART B: of this and open up each stick of RAM and look at the timings please.

Plus what Processes are running in your Task Manager ??

Using HW Info
PART A:
You can test the volts on the PSU with HW Info HWiNFO - Download < download the right bit version and close the right hand window select Sensors and scroll down to the power section where you will see what the volts are doing see my pic. In my pic the section (Nuvoton) with VBATT as a dead give away you are in the section for the rail voltages. There are other section titles and one that pops up often is ITE (sometimes the usual one for Gigabyte boards)
Now the voltage on the different rails have to be within 5% =+/- of what is required or the machine will not work properly if at all.
Limits +/- (minimum - correct - maximum)
12v1 = 11.4 - 12 - 12.6v
12v2 = 11.4 - 12- 12.6v
5v = 4.75 – 5 - 5.25v
3.3v = 3.135 – 3 – 3.465v
-12v = -10.80 - -12 - -13.20v
+5VSB = 4.75 – 5 - 5.25v
The Power good signal voltage at pin 8 on the 24 pin plug (grey cable) should be the same as the 5v rail reading/s

The original right hand window shows the machine running and is handy for that but for looking at the components in some detail close it and use the main left hand side panel

PART B:
Open each small square with + in it on the section the components are in and then click on the individual component/s (it will highlight in blue) - in the right hand side will appear all sorts of details including brands speeds and other essential info that particular device. See pic for example.

It would be helpful to know exactly what each ram module is.
Manufacture, speed, volts, ect.

Yes Jack I was rather hoping the OP had rather that HW Info by now because it has very detailed data that you mentioned on the sticks when clicked on each one.

Well it does on any of the components really it just struck me that at some stage of the machines life an extra stick was added without going through those very readings. Plus I am thinking a memtest wouldn't go amiss either.
