MGADiag report - "This Computer is not running genuine Windows"

Very strange - none of the problem files were replaced, but some new ones were found.

The last time I saw creeping errors like this, the problem was caused by failing RAM.

Download Memtest86+ from www.memtest.org and run it for a few hours (follow their instructions for creating boot media) to see how it performs.

Maybe I didn't do something correct with wdgaa file. I extracted it to C: and I see it in C: but when in repair mode at the cmd prompt it would not find it in C: but it did find it in D:. D: is what I used for the remained of the instructions.

I will run the memtest tonight and report results back tomorrow, hopefully that will tell us something.

OK, downloaded the memtest and burned the .iso image to a cd. Rebooted and let the test run for 2 1/2 hours. Results showed 3 full passes and 20% complete on the 4th pass with no errors found.

That probably means that the memory is OK (the forum recommendation here is for 8 passes - but I consider that to be overkill :))

The next check needs to be the hard drive - which in fact you already ran.
Please open Event Viewer, and look for the Windows Logs - Application
In the Source column, look for Wininit events - the latest one is likely to be the output from your CHKDSK run.
Please double-click on that, then use the Copy button, and paste the results into your reply.

I can't see any reason for the fix not working properly - the source files are in the right place, at least
Please try booting to the Repair Environment again, and repeating the command - let's see if it works this time - and run another SFC scan, and post the results.

Ooops - thanks for the boot up the backside! (why change a metaphor?)

I've uploaded a file - wdgab.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive
Please download and save it.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract
Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print these instructions!)
Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'
Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.

Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
At the prompt type
DIR C:\wdgab
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\wdgab
or
DIR E:\wdgab

The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...

XCOPY <drive>:\wdgab <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h

run the command (it should take almost no time)and when the prompt returns, type
EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your SkyDrive Public folder, and post a new link

Also run a new MGADiag report, and post the result.

"Ooops - thanks for the boot up the backside!"....That's too funny.:D Really, I am just very thankful that someone knows enough to make some forward progress on fixing my operating system issues. Thanks for all your help so far, it is truly appreciated.

OK, went to your SkyDrive, I do not see wdgab.zip. I do see one labeled wgdab.zip. I just want to confirm which one to use. I am not sure if we have a typo or those truly are two different zip files and the one I need, wdgab.zip is just so large, it isn't viewable to me yet.

OK _ It was getting late/early, and I had a typo :)
yes, that's the file you need.
The typo is at least consistent, so use wgdab throughout the fix procedure
