I recently bought a new headset and it's worked fine for a few days, but now it's not responding to any sound whatsoever. It's displayed in my devices and everything looks normal. I've tested it on XP and it works fine.

click on the start orb :orb: Type sound, and click on it when it appears in the list. Use the Playback and Record tabs to set your device to Default.

A right click on a device allows you to enable disable it. If another device is already enabled you may have to disable it first :)

also inserting the two ticks is always a good idea

Fixed

I grabbed a new driver, discovered that didn't work. Then I uninstalled the sound drivers and installed the latest windows 7 ones and that fixed the problem. :)

pooch, I had already fiddled around with my mic in hardware and sound along with adjusting many settings for it. I eventually reinstalled my drivers and rebooted, and my mic works fine now. :D
