I can't get my microphone to work! I have a Windows 7 64-bit PC.

I have a new Logitech digital headset where the speakers work fine but the microphone doesn't seem to be working with the HTO Striker 7.1 sound card.

I have under control panel/sound/recording in the microphone setting HTO Striker 7.1 is set as the default. I can see the digital display moving as I speak. When I open recorder and try to record something there is no movement and when I try to play it back there is no sound.

I moved the headset over to my HP dv6 laptop and it works just fine. I am thinking the problem has to have something to do with the HTO Striker sound card configuration. Of course, I have all my sound levels set to medium high and the mute is not on.

Omega has no telephone support, so any help here would be greatly appreciated -- thanks!

I used to have one of those cards. I've never tried a "digital" headset - does that mean it connects via USB? If it does then it's not using the sound card to "record". Do you have the System Mixer enabled and set as the Default "Recording" device? If not, that MAY be the problem.

This is a Logitech Gaming headset that has the speaker and microphone jacks AND a USB dongle that the two jacks can be inserted into OR simple connect the two jacks to the PC.

This is their digital version BUT I really don't know what exactly makes it digital.

I see the HT Omega Striker 7.1 Menu and the Mixer folder and inside I see two main boxes: Volume and Record. The digital setting is set near the highest level and the Record section has the microphone button depressed with the Boost ON. Where do I ENABLE the mixer or is it already enabled with these settings?

Thanks for any input!

control panel/sound/playback HTO Striker 7.1 is the default device but when I click on Recording I see the Microphone HTO Striker 7.1 is 'currently unavailable'

The mic (and line) jacks on the Striker 7.1 are like most new sound cards, they are auto detected if anything is plugged in.

Do you see "System Mixer" in the Playback panel? If it's shown, set it as "default" and see if that fixes the problem. If it's now shown, RIGHT click in a blank area on that panel and then check to show disabled devices and it should then be shown and you can set it as the default playback device.

Although HT Omega does not have a telephone support, I've worked with them via e-mail and they have responded within either the same or next day and have been very helpful. They even gave me a pre-release driver to see if it fixed a problem I had.
