MS Office 2010 Home and Business Edition Beta is available for download for free until Oct. 2010.
You will need to create a MS Office Online account to do so.

I installed it this A.M., and it is a major step up, even from Office'07.

I have had it on here since 2009! It will require activation once you get the confirmation email from MS! You can add several email accounts into one inbox for those missing Windows Mail or Outlook Express easily.

You might want to look over the beta for Visio as well since those work together. Microsoft Office Online

MS Office 2010 beta is required first however to add Visio to it. To activate open the help link and enter the key they provide for the download.

What I wonder is whether I can run it side by side with my office 2007. Has anybody done that?

Both require activation like you would with Windows. But it doesn't prompt showing so many days left. That was something MS apparently left out. The two images here show the account info and key prompt as well as the confirmation on activation when opening the help tab.

You may that a problem whs since this is a newer version of the same program. Typically one replaces the other.

Not necessarily. in Vista you could run 98-03 together with 2007.

Yeah I was running 03 with 07 in Vista. Havent tried 07 with 10 yet. (Installed it on a new build)

That's good to know! I never had the older versions on having a different ISP using OE or WM and found myself needing a new email client for several accounts! Plus it was a chance to test another beta!

what exactly are you wanting to do... you dont need to be online to install Office 2010 ... simply download to your desktop and run it...

i am looking for a full offline installer. in Bangladesh net speeds are too low, mine is 60KB/s so think how much time it will take if go for an online install?

i am looking for the whole package in one time. like a zipped or iso pckg. in our country we got Electricity problem too. so each time i resume it starts from beginning.

You will need to activate it once you have entered the key which will require being connected online after the installation is complete. The download can be saved to a folder but you still need to be online to set things up like importing mail from any existing accounts.

Why? When going to download the beta take motice of the product key and be sure to write that down and keep in a safe place. The activation part is actually quicker then seen with Windows by entering the key provided by opening up the Help tab on the left as seen in the image here and then restarted Office while being connected.

After you simply go back and look in the Help tab to see it activated.
