Microsoft pulls security update over software conflicts

One of Patch Tuesday's security updates has been removed after Microsoft found that it can cause errors when paired with certain third-party software.

We are aware that some of our customers may be experiencing difficulties after applying security update 2823324, which we provided in security bulletin MS13-036 on Tuesday, April 9. We've determined that the update, when paired with certain third-party software, can cause system errors. As a precaution, we stopped pushing 2823324 as an update when we began investigating the error reports, and have since removed it from the download center.

Does it hurt to uninstall that KB even without Error Coded 55?
I'm having problems with FF20.0 and Malwarebytes that I never had before.

I didn't experience any problems, yet I uninstalled it. It WILL be reissued, as per new KB, so if you leave it installed, there's bound to be be some unnecessary duplication..

I wonder if that's why on my 2nd look at my list of updates yesterday before starting any downloads, that one was unchecked,with notice that "Download is pending" ?? I figured it was my boo-boo so went ahead & did it early this morning. So far, I haven't run into any snags but haven't done much with PC. Guess I'd best do more reading of the above links to decide whether to keep or uninstall.
This is the 1st time I've ever installed all updates so soon, I usually take at least several days to a week of checking forum for any problems.

Have been running into the issues with Kaspersky Endpoint Security version 8. That's all I have seen so far. Will update if I hear more.

Hey Jack,

I wouldn't think so if you haven't had issues, but since you are, you might go ahead and uninstall it to see if you still have the issues with FF20.0 and Malwarebytes.

I wasn't real sure of what to do even after reading several posts & links so just went ahead & uninstalled it even tho' I haven't had any issues so far.

Thank you Mr. Shawn. I will remove it and see what happens. I just need confirmation because I'm down to one usable computer and didn't want to screw things up. I have 3 brain cells and one I save for paranoia.

It doesn't seem to have caused any problems here.

Still, I always create a backup HDD image, before installing MS updates.

I still laugh when I remember some guy trying to convince me, that there have "never ever" been any problems caused by MS Updates.
