I think you misinterpreted my statement, I meant that only Microsoft can give out the invitations, you cannot just sign up for it.

but microsoft must have our email id to invite us.. ok lets forget it..

From what I've read so far only those who were in the Microsoft Windows 7 Beta Program (not everyone) are getting invites for now.

Though I could be wrong, but I go by what I read. Nothing more.

You are right. I was one of them that did not get invited onto the 2nd round.
