Icon will not show in task bar. Found some old info , but not sure how to correct this. I can click the program on my start menu and the icon is in the proper location. Next log-in and no icon. Thank you.

Look in Task Manager to see if the program is running when you don't see the Icon.
I'm on Win 8.1 with Panda AV right now, so I can't give you the task manager Win 7 process name to look for using MSE.
Others here with Win 7 and MSE should be able to give you the process name ...

Seems like either uninstall/ re-install as suggested or simply delete and replace what ever shortcut to MSE you have now might be fine since the program it's self seems to open fine from the programs list ?

Hi you really haven't given us any information to go by :(
The program opened so it seems just a corrupt shortcut being used which can happen any number of ways/ downloads....
Fill in your system spec's page and add which security suite have ever been installed
