Hi all.

I would like to have my taskbar mirrored.
This way when I move my taskbar to the side of the screen the windows start button is still located at the bottom of the screen.

Is there a way to do this?

See screenshot:
View image: mirror taskbar

Thanks in advance.

I'm afarid that is impossible as the start button is always attached to the taskbar. It is the way Windows has been made.

Also I have an old Windows XP Laptop for backup/occasional use etc.
As others have said the Start button is always the First Item on the Start Bar. So it is always on the Left, if Start Bar is on top or bottom of the screen, or at the top of the screen if the Start Bar is on the Left or Right side of the screen

Hello Spannow, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You may be able to do that partially with the Start button, but it'll be a bit of a workaround.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/64062-start-menu-shortcut-program.html

You can Pin to Taskbar the Start Menu.exe file, or move where you like for easy use.

If you moved the taskbar to another screen location (left or right) and you do not like how the Start button (orb) is now at the top of the taskbar, then you can use the free program Start Killer to remove the default Start button (orb). Afterwards, you can place the Start Menu.exe file in a new folder somewhere, unlock the taskbar, pin the new folder to the taskbar as a toolbar, right click on the dotted lines to the left of the new toolbar and uncheck Show Text and Show Titile, click on View and Large Icons, then drag this new Start button toolbar where you like on the taskbar and lock the taskbar.

Hope this helps, :)
Shawn

Ha, thanks for welcomes and the info.

Brink, I tried your solution.
It's halfway, but not quite :p
Although the start menu is lower, still the system tray icons are at the bottom.
Furthermore when you click your alternative start button, the menu appears at the original start button location. (top)

But I appreciate the work around :)

For other users that would like to see for themselves.
The start menu.exe can be downloaded folowing this tread.

Think I need to create a feature request at Microsoft :D LOL

Have a look at Start Orb Mover

This portable freeware will now allow you to move the Start Button and the Start Menu to either the center of the Taskbar or far right\bottom, depending on Taskbar location.
