Mirroring Inprivate settings IE10 & 11

Ever since moving from ie9 to ie10 and also now ie11 I have found the whole user experience very frustrating. IE10 and 11 both have problems accessing my ftp drive and show sluggishness when navigating through the folder tree after a few clicks. I also get some annoying delays accessing a couple of my NAS drive web user interfaces and also even my own main router browser page. None of this was an issue in ie9. Whilst normal web browsing is maybe a few milliseconds more rapid I find this really disappointing. Compatibility modes make zero difference.

The interesting thing is if I use inprivate mode I see a much more rapid and improved performance accessing my router and using the FTP navigation within IE. I know inprivate eradicates add ons so I thought whilst in normal mode I would disable all add ons and see if that improved things. But no dice. Resetting IE11 makes no difference either.

So what I want to try and do is tweak the normal mode settings to be more akin to inprivate mode without actually having to launch inprivate mode - if that makes sense. So does anybody know what specific settings I should start altering? I am hoping I can isolate something which is causing the sluggishness. I am sure some useless MS forced setting is probably the culprit. As an example my router browser page behaves very odd. Sometimes I click into my shortcut for it and ok the login details and the UI loads instantly. Other times it will takes over ten seconds to respond. Same with one of my NAS drives interfaces. It's weird and was never an issue in ie9. Only began in ie10 and behaves perhaps worse in ie11. FTP though is the worst offender. MS seem to have really fudged up IE10 and 11 capabilities as an FTP client - a once great feature!

I have the latest Firefox too and this works like a dream in everything. It's just Microsofts latest and greatest that performs like this. I think they have changed too much and caused a lot of compatibility issues. Maybe IE12 will be better but I am not hopeful. The worst thing is if they decide to make IE11 the last browser update to windows 7 then could be stuck with it. I know I can roll back to IE9 but I see big players like Google will stop supporting ie9 soon so in effect one is almost pushed into updating!

Cheers

Hi

Thanks for the response. I tried with no add ons mode and also 64 bit mode in the past. Makes no difference unfortunately. The only mode that works well is inprivate mode which is why I want to try and mirror it as much as possible in normal mode. I use MS Security essentials.

It seems to be mainly a problem with internal devices more than anything. External browsing save for the odd glitch is generally great. the FTP sluggishness is the most frustrating part and googling around seems I am not alone and that MS has messed this up somewhat. I know I can set shortcuts to launch shortcuts to pages in inprivate mode but I would like the normal mode to work properly. I am sure there is some tweak/setting that could make a huge difference .

Cheers

I wish I was more familiar with the setup and terms you use,
ftp ?
nas drive ?
If In-private works and enhanced protection does not ?
Possibly A Guy will appear and educate us both on the issue,
Cheers.

No worries. Ftp is file transfer protocol and NAS is network added storage.
