Missing Desktop Background Slide Show option.....

I'm not sure exactly where this belongs in this forum. If I'm in the wrong place, will someone please point me in the proper direction?

I've just installed Win 7 Enterprise on a former Win 8.1 system. It a Sony Vaio with a Core I7 processor and 8gb of RAM.

It was a clean install (formatted, re-partitioned drive, etc.). Nothing appeared wrong during the installation process and all applications installed properly.

I like to use recent travel pictures as an auto-changing background. I've been doing it for years without a hitch. Now there seems to be a hitch.

On any of my other boxes, if Right Click on the screen, select "Personalize", then "Desktop Background", and then look in the "Picture Location" drop-down, I have a choice of "Windows Desktop Backgrounds", "Picture Library", "Top Rated Photos", "Solid Colors", and any other picture paths I may have earlier selected. I can also "Browse" to yet another picture directory, and select that instead.

On this new installation, I only see "Windows Desktop Backgrounds" and "Solid Colors"! While I CAN browse to other directories, I'm unable to get them to stick.

I have a sneaking suspicion that it might have something to do with "Libraries", but I'm out of my depth there.

Has anyone any ideas that might help me solve this problem? I'd appreciate any and all available help.

Thanks.

Yes. Windows Media Center is installed and active. Windows 7 Enterprise is exactly like Windows 7 Ultimate, but sold with volume licensing. Made me LOOK though. Needed to be sure that Media Center had been activated. It HAD been, so that's not the problem. The slide-show works fine on the other system I have that are running Enterprise.

Thanks though.

As far as I know it doesn't matter if you leave it as the default selection then just browse to the folder you want to use as the desktop background slide show,
That folder will soon be the listing so switching to libraries doesn't need to be selected that is pretty much what you have said,

The question now is
Is this folder location your selecting on a separate hdd or on the same drive as the os or on another partition on the same drive ?
I'm testing a desktop slide show now and it seems to be working set at changing at every 10 seconds,
Different slide show for sleep or screen saver,
And I did name this new theme and saved it
Started from a default win-7 aero theme.

I'm not using "Themes" or Aero. The picture directory(s) are on the C Drive, as is the OS. As I said, I can BROWSE to them, but NOT get that directory to "Stick" for use in the slide show.
