After the excellent help I've received here recently I just thought of one more little nagging issue that I haven't been able to figure out on one of my computers. I have the Desktop background setup to be a slide show and change 1x/day. It worked initially when I installed Win7 64 on this computer but has stopped working for some reason. I double check the settings and all is good but the desktop changes. I know it is something I have done but can't figure out what that might be. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Might want to restore it back to when it was working.
Just think about it as I haven't had my share of caffeine yet today.

Thanks for the reply but that's no good as it was quite a long time ago that this started happening so I don't have a good restore point nor would I want to do it as too many other things have been added since then.

Thanks, but I know how do to this and have done it and it works on 3 of my 4 computers, it's just this one that has stopped working and I don't know why... quite puzzling and I really don't want to reinstall everything just for this. It's no big deal, that's why I never bothered asking about it in the past, but since coming here and finding such knowledgeable/helpful people I thought I'd give it a shot. Thanks again for the replies.

Avatar when you make changes to your slide show you also have to save it as a new theme or windows will ignore your changes .

example:

You have 10 pictures saved as a slide show timed to change every 10s you would save as theme 1

then If you have the same 10 pictures saved as a slide show and change the time to every 30s you would save as theme 2

If you change the window color & appearance of your slide show you will have to re-save it as theme 3, also you will have to make sure all the boxes are check marked.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I understand all that and unfortunately none of that relates to this particular issue. I wish it was that simple! lol

Added info: I had previously done the sfc /scannow thing and it found nothing. I decided to do it again and this time it did find some corrupted files (not sure what as when I glanced at the log file it is over 11,000kb in size and nothing stuck out at me with my quick once over) so I then created and saved a new theme to have the pics change every 10sec. and rebooted. Upon rebooting the desktop did change! But only once and then never again... :( I also disabled my antivirus/active protection (even though the same program is on all my other computers) and that made no difference. Really stumped with this one.
