Missing hardware

It seem that i have an issue with device manager not detecting several devices..... im sure i haven't spotted them all yet but the ones i know of i will list

1: Pioneer dvd RW 101
2: On-board Nvidia network adaptors
3: occasionally Air- Pace Wi-Fi adapter (can be resolved via a restart)

im sure i will be able to ad more at a later date as and when i relise

even if i try a scan for hardwre changes it still does not detect any of the devices... would there not be another way to force a detection?

its bugging me because out of the 3 dvd drives i have... my pioneer is the fastes and the one i like using the most

Hello Ripbox..

You should download any driver related to IDE/SATA and chipset drivers from ABIT.

Universal abit > Motherboard, Digital Speakers, iDome, AirPace, Multimedia

If your devices are still missing after installing the drivers (if they don't install, try in compatibility mode) , check your internal IDE/SATA connections

limneos i know my DVD drive works well due to it sowing and working on vista on another partition....
i will however give the Abit drivers a try but im un sure this will help at all if even device manager does not detect that the hardware is even there...

The chipset driver would be able to make that to re-appear, if you haven't installed it yet

Well i gave the Chip set driver a whirl with much luck... when i got round to re booting 7 could not restart and hung on the windows logo boot screen
Not all a bad thing though because i got to try out the start-up repair and system restore.... and they have improved that somewhat and i cant help feel that the system restore and and start-up repair was a heck of a lot faster and more informative... maybe im wrong but it also had a few little added feature to aid you in understand what will be kept and removed during a restore, by this i mean you can ask it to generate a list of software and drivers that it will keep and remove, i think this could also help to understand what made your system unstable or unable to boot

Again another good thing that came out from it is that i have gained back my Pioneer dvd drive +10 rep tolimneos

Unfortuanatly it still hasnt solved my network connections issuses

I didn't do the air pace driver as i do believe at the moment this also causes problems... im currently using the Atheros chip driver that is embedded int 7 stated in this thread http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/1758-abit-airspace-wi-fi-x64-post17861.html#post17861
