Missing MSVCP110.dll file / Photoshop Elements / Nik Software

I downloaded the Visual C++ and it did not help. I still get the message that my GPU is not compatible! NIK should never have been sold to anyone!

Check to see if you can disable updates from Nik via your virus protection software. Someone mentioned that in an earlier thread and it may be worth a shot. Then you can reinstall the previous version of the plugin and see if it works. Also, there's an option which you can uncheck to disable GPU processing but you have to be able to get to the plugin to do that. I hope you find a solution!

I misread the file--what I have is mscvp110.dll and msvcp110_cir0400.dll I never got the other warning, but nothing is working yet. Still no reply from NIK!

I don't see NIK or Google in wthe Windows firewall or Microsoft Security Essentials. I;ll keep checking back here to see if there are other suggestions. At least I got better support from Nikon re: Capture NX installation problems after they gave the wrong information and wanted to know when I bought it! Do any of them read what we write?:(

Hosts File

If you can determine the site name that the updater is trying to connect to, you can block it in your hosts file.

You can find the hosts file here:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
You can edit the hosts file using Notepad.
You should be able to add the site name to the hosts file and set the address to the localhost address:

  • IPv4 - 127.0.0.1
  • IPv6 - ::1

For example (IPv4 setting for blah.com):
277918d1374672466-how-do-i-block-https-access-social-networking-sites-hosts-file.png

I haven't read it in detail but check out this link, it might be just the solution you're looking for.
Google Nik autoupdating - FM Forums

Let us know if it works!

I recently found an item in Windows 7 start menu called Google Update and I disabled it. I'm not sure if that's effective but it may be worth a try also.

Thanks. I have no Google Updater that I can find. NIK finally responded, but sent me a download link on Google, but when I sign in, it says I don't have permission! I told them there are a lot of unhappy people out here who are very frustrated at losing their software. The link for uninstalling the Google Update does not work now.

I found a fix in another forum.
Worked for me.

GOTO:
Download Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 3 from Official Microsoft Download Center

I updated with the "VSU3\vcredist_x64.exe" file.
Shut down / Restart / CS6 loaded with the Nik plugin intact and no errors.

MSVCP110.dll is now in my C:\Windows\System32 folder.

Hope this helps,
MrJulius

Thank you very much for solution, worked for me!
For x64 systems:
C:\Windows\System32\msvcp110.dll = 663*552 Bytes
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\msvcp110.dll = 536*576 Bytes

My update on NIK

I spoke to someone at NIK today and think my problems are solved--at least temporarily. They walked me through all the steps to remove any remnants of NIK on my computer and when Google updater reinstalled, they had me disable both versions listed under services in the Administrative section of Control Panel. They know they have a problem and are working on it. In the meantime, I may be able to use the software and am glad for that!

NIK doesn't work on my laptop and I checked the graphics card and it is on the list. I don't process on that so it is of less concern. I did disable the Google Updater though.
FYI, NIK recommended leaving Elements open when the computer is on to avoid any possible update issues.

It will be nice when they get all this resolved. At least they know they have a problem.:D
