Hi,
I'm a few days in on a clean Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit instillation with everything working great. So far I've loaded Flash 11, AMD CCC 8.0916, Foxit Reader 6.2.1.618, Nero 12, Acronis True Image 2013 and Win Zip 9.0. Everything seems to be working fine except now I get an error message every time I start or restart Windows. The error message reads; "ERROR Could not load the device driver". Do to the vagueness of the message I'm having difficulty locating the culprit. Is there a log file of any kind that may point to the program with the missing driver or any other method for pinpointing the source of this missing driver?
Thanks

richc46,
Everything in the device driver is clean, that was the first thing I checked. I'm thinking it's related to a program I loaded.

richc46,
I selected all the drivers that were non Microsoft and restarted. Now it starts, goes to desktop then restarts in a continuous loop.
First I need to break the loop to disable the Driver Verifier then I think I'll remove the programs I installed one by one to try and isolate the problem.

richc46,
I started in safe mode and disabled the Driver Verifier. Everythings working again but I still have my error message. I'm going to uninstall the programs I loaded after Windows one at a time restarting after each and watch for the error. It started after loading them so I feel one of them is the culprit.

Problem fixed!
Richc46 and Davide thanks for all your help and advice. I located the source before I had a chance to watch the video Davide but it looks like a handy tool I'd like to know. I disabled all non essential programs in the startup tab through msconfig and the error message went away. One by one I enabled the disabled startup items until the error returned. The error was caused by a program called EZTune. It's an overclocking utility supplied by Gigabyte on the motherboard CD. I've used it before with this board with XP Pro 32 bit and it worked fine. Ether it didn't load correctly or it's not compatible with Win 7 64 bit. I uninstalled it for now and the errors gone.
I noticed after posting my thread that I posted it in the wrong category, updates and activation, thanks for your patience with a newbe. I'll be more careful next time.
Thanks again

Glad you found the fix.
If you do want the EZTune utility you could check if there is a newer version available.
