Setup:
windows 7 64bit
core 2 quad q8200
6gb ram
2 x nvidia 8800gs graphics cards in sli
monitor is 32lh3010 lg lcd tv.

Problem:

During the last week whenever I switch the input on my tv, or switch the screen off with my pc still running, it drops the input. I cant seem to get the pc to send the signal back to the screen. I know the pc is still working as I can hear it and press the buttons to start the media player playing music. This has only happene furing the last week. Before this I could switch input back and forth without trouble, and also switch the screen off if I wanted to sleep and leave a scan of some sort running. But now when I switch it back on, it just says input signal not received.

Extra points: The TV realises there is a signal because only input labels which have signal are highlighted, and the PC one is highlighted. Also before I switch on the screen, I turned on the sound and when I switched on the screen I got the sound from windows of a usb being plugged in.

I have no idea what has caused this and was hoping somebody could help, because its getting quite irritating. Thanks

Can you do a System Restore to a point before this happened?

Try using the power options to turn off the monitor and not manually shutting it off

Tried the system restore it did nothing.

The monitor is a 32inch tv which never had a problem before. The power options on the pc bring on the BSOD if I use them.

I can use the power saving option to switch the screen off and it seems to be ok. But i cant change input to the ps3 or freeview, as when i turn it back over, it says signal cant be found, even though the pc is still running, playing music etc. I just get the no input found, which is weird because the input icon on the tv is coloured, which means there is an input, but the pc isnt projecting it. Ive tried changing the dvi to hdmi cable, no luck. Tried to change the hdmi port, no luck. Getting frustrated. I may now try to put the hdmi cable through the av receiver and then send the signal to the tv to see if that makes a difference.

Any other ideas?

I think Ive narrowed it down to it being to do with my resolution. Also the first few minutes after i boot up I can seem to change the inputs and switch it on and off fine. But after a while it doesnt work anymore.

With the resolution I found that when the screen did come back it was as if the resolution had dropped to something lower than it is usually (1080p). Any ideas as to what maybe causing this?

Not sure if that helps any1?

The only suggestion I can make is that you contact the TV manufacturers to see if they can help. I think you have a hardware issue here. Have you got a USB in socket where you can update the firmware for the TV?
