Solved Monitor Stops All Sound

I recently had an update. Before the update I could use a second monitor through a HMDI cable and it will not halt sound. Now after the update whenever I have my second monitor plugged in all sound stops. I have to unplug the second monitor to get my laptop to play sound again.

I have not changed any settings. Can someone please help get my laptop to play sound when I have a second monitor plugged in?

Oh my word. The sound suddenly started after I muted and unmuted a few times. It scared the life out of me. Please ignore this thread.
