essentially lm having problems updating.. it just sticks there at 0% and l can leave it for hours and not see any change..

l then usually go through the motions of removing winupdate cache and the usual fixes both from windows and ones lve been recommended in the past (some of which tend to do similar things) then at some point everything works fine for one particular boot within a few days of being notified of updates..

problem is lm getting tired of going through the motions every time there are updates, my PC doesnt seem to suffer from this issue which uses the same OS and version of 7 l have on the laptop (different genuine COAs of course).. however despite reinstalling and the problem still happening lm at a loss to work out why lm experiencing this issue.. wondered if anyone had any suggestions l havent tried yet to resolve my issues.

getting even more confused now.. been trying to get it to do updates for the past three days..

found something online that l didnt think would work (tho it was part of a thread which was about a similar issue), main reason l didnt think the command would work was because by removing the files when clearing the windows update cache the datastore.edb is recreated.. but this time windows updates immediately worked after running the below command:

esentutl.exe /d c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\DataStore.edb

and all the command seems to do is defrag the file.
