No problem
- Just attach the SSD
- (I prefer to use the bootable Macrium CD/USB) boot to Macrium
- Clone the C partition to SSD
- Remove HDD for now (pull the power cable enough)
- Boot to Windows with SSD
- If cloning didn't use the full SSD capacity, extend C in Disk Management (or Partition Wizard free)
- Re-attach power to HDD
- Change boot order to SSD in BIOS
- Once in Windows, delete HDD partitions, and create one partition as D
- Also run Windows Experience Index
- Check http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/70822-ssd-tweaks-optimizations-windows-7-a.html
- Also Samsung Magician will offer some optimizations, just don't enable buffer flushing (may cause data loss in case of power failure)
All this is assuming your data is backed up already, or HDD C is smaller than 256GB. If not, backup the data to another place and delete from HDD C.
Hope these are clear, if not ask away.
