Solved Motherboard HDMI Port Audio

I have read quite a bit about this but can't seem to find a solution that works.
I would like to keep this thread more general ideas of how to solve this issue rather than mentioning specific hardware.

My Intel motherboard has an HDMI port built.
I installed the drivers for my built in Intel Graphics / HDMI which installs Audio drivers for the HDMI as well.
In "Device Manager" the driver shows up under "Sound, video, and game controllers" and it is working fine.
It shows up as "Intel(R) Display Audio" and it says it is working fine.
When I go into Windows "Sound" and look under the first tab called "Playback" I do not see any HDMI / Intel Audio items.
I have both context menu items checked "show disabled devices" and "show disconnected devices"
So in theory even if an HDMI cable is not plugged in, it should show up here?
In the past I tried this with an LCD TV hooked up through HDMI

Does anyone have any general ideas of how do get this HDMI Audio driver to show up with the other devices, in the Sound - Playback tab?

I tried disabling the driver, rebooting and then enabling the device but that did not work.

I ended up figuring it out, when I tested this out with a TV in the past, it was on a system that I purchased used and the original owner turned off HDMI audio in the BIOS.

Also another thing to note just in case someone comes across this in the future, some HDMI ports on TV itself have Audio built in and some have 1/4" jack linked to the HDMI. The TV I am testing on has one of each.

Ahhh much better, one problem down.
