Hello. I am experiencing some problems not with the actual mouse, but with the system or something.

This error recently started occurring where the mouse will not allow me to close out of windows, or click inside of them. Generally this starts occurring when I start playing World of Warcraft but it's not limited to this only. It's happened when I wasn't playing, or when I am just chatting on Skype, or even not at the computer. It's not a virus, or anything malicious, as I'm pretty competent with that sort of thing, but I cannot figure this issue out.

I've also checked the sleep and power options, both are fine.

It just stops working for 5-60 seconds and I have to ctrl+alt+delete to fix the issue momentarily.

My computer is a Windows7 X64-bit OS, Asus Notebook G60 Series. The mouse is a Razer DeathAdder 3500DPI.

EDIT: The touch pad also will not work during this "phase" of unresponsiveness from the mouse. When I say it will not work, I mean that it will not click as well, but it will move responsively, as the mouse will.

Thank you.

I too have just started having this issue with win7 enterprise 64
it seems there is a program interfering, because when i run taskmgr and close programs that i have setup at launch one by one , eventually the mouse cursor will work again.

richard's suggestions do not work.

I'm looking at this more closely. I'm going to pin down what the issue is.
basically i can move my mouse and change focus sometimes, but open windows will not accept the mouse input.

Well if your facts are correct, my suggetion does work. My suggestion is to put the programs back one at a time to find the cause.

no, your suggestion does not work. also, rolling back to a restore point earlier in the month didnt work with me.

I'll report back if i find out what the issue is. This issue is intermittent, which makes it so difficult to pin down. I can not just find out what the issue is by killing a specific program.

I've also swapped out mice and last night i reinstalled my OS to find this issue cropping up again.

Any solution ever come of this topic?

I've recently just started having this issue. I have updated drivers.

I have a Logitech G700 all other buttons will work except left/right click. Ctrl/alt/del will fix problem temporarily. I do believe its an interfering application because I've gone and closed any unused processes and it will begin to work again.

Go to the website of your hard drive manufacturer and test your hard drive. This can also cause the problems that you have mentioned.
