Some times my mouse does not respond when I boot my computer. It happens about 20% of the time. There is light on the mouse but it does not move unless I disconnect and reconnect it via USB.

Is there a permanent fix for this?

If pebbly's advice did not help. Try reinstalling the mouse driver.

Start> Type Device in search box> click on Device Manager in results above

Expand Mice and other pointing devices> Right click the mouse> Click Uninstall

Reboot and let Windows reinstall the driver

I'm having the same problem as ThumperSD.
Sometimes when I turn on the computer, the mouse is dead.
Restarting the computer (including unplugging the power cable) doesn't seem to help.
Moving the usb cable to a different port immediately fixes the problem - but it will recur after a while and I'll have to move it again.
I haven't tried uninstalling the device - I'll give that a go and see if it helps..
