I have a newly built PC with Win7 Pro 64 bit on the C: Drive which is a PCIE M.2 one. It works and I have loaded a few apps to the C: Drive. I now want to move a pair of matching 1gig drives to this PC. i have multiple back ups of them, so I hopefully can negate any whoopsies, but can I now go into the new BIOS on a different model same make (Gigabyte) LGA1151 bord and set up RAID1 before dding the already RAID1 pair, or should I break the RAID, format them, and then create a new RAID1 before restoring their dta? I hope I am being clear enough for anyone to follow my thought pattern, and I know some here feel RAID on Win7 is a waste of time, but it's worked fine for several years including recreating the RAID after one drive croaked, but the older Gigabyte board is showing issues. Thanks.

It depends whats creating the raid it likely if its hardware that the new mbwont be the same so it wont work. Second part is if you got it to work then you may not be able to use the files due to ntfs permssion being set to a sid on the old pc

Will a Macrium Reflect backup of the current RAID1 pair be OK to restore to a newly made RAID1 pairing on the new MB? Or are permissions till an issue? Getting worried..... Thanks for the reply!
