My system disk is about 80% filled up and I am looking to move the system files to a new disk for increased efficiency.

I believe the way to go is diskcopy, creating a clone of current system disk to a new disk. I have never done this and would appreciate any pointers to make this operation smooth and easy would be much appreciated.

I am looking at EaseUS Disk Copy Home Edition 2.3.1 and MiniTool Drive Copy both freeware. Any suggestion on applications ?

I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, 8GB RAM.

Another option that I have used is Aomei Partition Assistant (free). It has a "Migrate OS to SSD or HDD" feature that has worked very well for me and is easy to use.

Thanks very much little Jay.

I have a doubt, I should hook the new disk to the same PC and complete Diskcopy via Aomei. Shut the PC remove the old HDD and locate the new HDD in the same slot/connection where old HDD was located.

Does this process sounds correct.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, that sounds right. I don't think you will have any problems. Aomei is pretty easy to use. Good luck!
