Solved Moving windows/icons down problem!! Move right/left/up - no problem

New system

i7 3930K CPU
Sabertooth X79 Mortherboard
GeForce GTX690 GPU
Intel 520 series SSD
32GB RAM
Dell U2711 27" Monitor
Win 7 Pro

I can move icons/windows up, right, left perfectly smoothly - HOWEVER

When I try to move them down, OR try to grab a scroll bar with the mouse and move it down, OR try the resize a window (either by grabbing the top or btm of the window) in a downward motion it will move between a few mm to a few cm then stop - and I have to regrab it with the mouse .... it can take a dozen attemtps to move a window or an icon to the bottom of the screen.

In fact moving sideways with a downward motion causes the same problem.

Any movement to the right, left or up moves totally smoothly......

Any suggestions? It's doing my head in !!

(NB. All motherboard, GPU, windows files are fully up to date.)

Doh - just been for a walk and it suddenly dawned on me that I was having similar problems with my old computer (although not the the same extent).

The only common denominator was the mouse.

Sure enough, plugged in an old mouse - and all working fine!!

Sorry guys - but if nothing else a lesson in the need to sometimes go back to basics!!
