I been trying to move text from wordpad to a website builder page and when I do I lose all the formating. All the text that was all in line much a spread sheet stays on the same line but nothing is in line with each other.Same thing happens when I copy and paste the text to Notepad.
Can anyone help?
Is it even possible to move the information from wordpad to another page without this happening?
Thanks

Hi there,

You may just need to disable Word Wrap. In Wordpad, click View > Word Wrap > No Wrap. In Notepad, click Format > Word Wrap.

Let me know if that helps.

If you want to preserve any formatting you've done in your WordPad document, save it in Rich Text format. Rich Text Format (.rtf) is compatible with just about anything. If you save a document as a text format you will lose any formatting you may have added in WordPad.

moving text and keeping format

Thanks for the advice:
Clicking no wrap on wordpad to wrap on notepad, then transferring to notepad saved the format of the text meaning all the text stayed the same keeping columns. It worked. However transfering using this method to paste on my website page did not work.Any other suggestions?
Thanks

So, your typing columns of text in, the script running on your host is removing the extra spaces. Its nothing you can change. Maybe you should be using a real editor.

What "website builder" are you using? ccatlett1984 is right, you should use a site editor that retains formatting in a simple copy-paste maneuver...

losing format of wordpad text

I am using Intuit website builder. As I said earlier when I cut an paste text from wordpad in RTF the space between number and letters becomes scrambled. If I used a spreadsheet software program would it do the same thing? Can someone recomend a spreadsheet software program that is not expensive?Excel is out of the question.I only need one spreadsheet template.Google docs?
