MS & BING Highjacked my Homepage?

Cannot believe it - the other day when I fired up my browser I got a little message window that said something like "The New Bing etc....was ready to INSTALL, all I had to do was click OK" [did not offer any options] I could NOT get to my Normal Home Page of YaHoo Frontier. So I was FORCED to cliick OK. It then has LOCKED me into MSN/Bing for my homepage - this after I had already in another program chose to DISABLE Bing.
Always before when I have had something change my homepage w/o my asking for it - I would just go back into "Internet Options" after returning to the homepage I wanted - then clicking on "Current Page" for home page and then "APPLY". That has always restored my world before - NOT NOW.....MS has successfully come up with some "HACK" to keep me from NOT "choosing" them as my Homepage. I am now FORCED to use MS & Bing.

Anyone else here having to deal with the same thing?

Please tell me how/what to do to BREAK their "power" over my choices here.

How long ago is "the other day"??

If possible, do a System Restore to a date prior to "the other day".

Try going to control panel - uninstall a program and see if Bing toolbar is listed. Uninstall it. When you download programs, read the install instructions carefully. Bing, google, Ask and several others are sneaky about installing their toolbars with other programs. But, if you catch it you can uncheck install their toolbars.

If the above members' suggestions don't work, you also have all of these options:

Go to the IE page that you WANT as your Home Page, click on Tools, Internet Options, and first:
1. manually delete the url for the MSN Bing homepage, close IE and reopen it to see if the change has taken effect; if that doesn't work,
2. click on Use Current, close IE and reopen it to see if the change has taken effect; if that doesn't work,
3. click on Use Default, close IE and reopen it to see if the change has taken effect.

If none of the above work, you can go into Programs and Features and delete the MSN Bing app.

And finally, you have 2 good work-arounds that you can use:
1 You can virtually IGNORE the choice of "Home Page" by going into the 'Home' link on your IE screen and creating multiple "home pages." or
2, You can just pin to your Taskbar a link to the website that you want as your Home Page, and click on that whenever you want to go to your home page --- so either way, you'll essentially have a different home page.
