MS Office Professional Plus 2013

I am sorting out a PC and software for a UK Registered Charity. They need Access so it means a professional version of Office. I am looking to save money where I can as it is a charity and have been offered the following:



Bit worried about the term "Dummy licence"!
Would disclose the company who are offering this via a PM if required.
Can anyone advise me on this please?

You will only need a full version of Access is you will need to edit/create forma, reports, etc. You can use the free Access runtime to "run" Access applications and enter data.

The only PC/Workstation that needs a Full version of Access is the one doing development for the application.

I have many users that run my Access applications with just the free Access runtime.

Thanks for your response but there is only the one PC involved and that was not really the point of my post. I was concerned about the use of the phrase "Dummy Licence".
Anyway I shan't be using this supplier as Microsoft have agreed to donate the software I need for the charity's use!

That is great news that you are getting it donated.

If you do develop a multi-user database with Access you can use the free Access runtime on the machines that do not have Access. That may be helpful in the future if you can't get more copies of Office Pro/Plus donated.

Appreciate what you say about Access Runtime but as I said in my earlier post there is only one PC involved. There will be about 4 or 5 users all with different privileges.

I should have been more clear. I was referring to concurrent users at the same time. Generally with database multi-user refers to the number of users in the database at the same time. This is different than having database with security that assigns permissions. Applications can ask for a user name/password to assign permissions and NOT be multu-user.
