So it seems to be a software issue with ZoneAlarm. You can't blame MSE on this if it works with 2 other known firewalls.

Agreed. Regardless of where the problem is MSE & ZA don't play well together. I like the features of ZA Pro so I'll stick with it. ESET has also been excellent IMO. I just don't like system hangs. After reinstall of ESET smooth as silk.

I'm not using MSE; I use Avast. When I upgraded my computer and installed Windows Seven, Installed PCTools firewall and then changed to Comodo. However, I am planning to switch to MSE.
