Hello everyone,

I had to uninstall Afterburner since it was using a file which's specified on the thread's title and it was probably causing BSOD's. That was because that file was from 2005 and I'm using Win7 64bit OS. My question is, I have a new RTcore64.sys file from 2008 which I will attach and I would like to know if it works if I replace the old one for this one after installing Afterburner.

Just install the latest version of Afterburner. The newest version of that file will be installed.

Hello there and thank you for your response.
Are you sure that version comes with updated RTCore for Windows7? I was using 2.0.0 version and it came with the file I've mentioned, from 2005.

I have used version 2.0.0 of Afterburner with Windows 7 x64 with no problems.

However, I am now using 2.1.0 beta 6 and the RTCore64.sys is dated 5/26/2010.

I don't recall what was in 2.0.0.

The RTCore32.sys is from 2005.

I am using MSI Afterburner with no problem on my x64 system, this might indicate another incompatibility with your system. You might try the ATI Tray Tool instead

I guess the problem was related to RTCore64.sys. I don't know why but if just crashed when I installed MSI Afterburner. It could have been a coincidence... I don't really know. Thanks for your suggestion pal, but I was using afterburner to control fanspeed according to the GPU temperature and ATI Tools isn't that good for it. But thanks in advance.

reinstall msi afterburner but this time move the destination to a different folder name, like C:/Program Files(86)/MSI Afterburner2. Worked for me :)
