Solved Multi Monitor Setup x 4 Want Thumbnails of all monitors on Main Screen

I Have a Multi monitor setup on my Computer.


2 Computer Monitors DVI

2 TV Screens on HDMI


My Question is: Is there any Setting OR Software available that would give me the following result -


I want to Display ALL Monitors as maybe a Thumbnail View at the bottom of my Main Display. So I know what is on the other Monitors. I currently can see 2 Computer Monitors as they are directly in front of me.



However, the 2 TV screens I am using on HDMI are in a different room and I cannot see what is on them unless I visit that room. So it would be handy to view them on my main monitor so I can see whats showing OR be able to drag windows back and forth etc.


Is this at all possible?

Welcome to Seven Forums, Crashtest007,

Sounds like you want a Picture-in-Picture (PIP) of your extended monitors available on the primary monitor.

The only way I can think of doing that, would be to have cameras set up in your other rooms, pointing at the monitors. The video input can be fed onto the Primary Monitor.

If you did pursue that kind of arrangement, then you would might cameras that can handle "screen flicker" when videoing computer monitors.

Yes, something like that!


But - Camera's set up would cost Way too much and I don't want my house to look like it's "Under Surveillance" either
So that would not be an option.


Miscrsoft have a program called: Microsoft Remote Monitor, does exactly what I want.

BUT... And I don't mind paying!!!! They want your Address and Your PC SN and other peripherals so they can flog you more of their own. I just want the Software ( And I'll happily pay for it) but I am not about to give Microsoft all the details including linking my CC to them which ties in with my home address.


There Must be some other piece of Software out there that does the SAME job.

That is actually not a Microsoft program, it just happens to be available on the Microsoft Store. The App is by H_M_U. You can install a free trial version if you have Windows 10. Might be worth your while upgrading to Win 10 for this App. Mind you, you would still need a DirectX 12 capable graphics card.

I did a quick websearch, and I found this, it is called Actual Multiple Monitors. It works on Windows 7 and has a different terminology. In this software, the user can Mirror part of the Desktop, or an entire Monitor, and make it available on a different Monitor. Whether it's use is restricted to mirroring the primary monitor on secondary displays, I don't know, (see How to Clone Display on Multiple Monitors) but it looks like you can select the source of the Monitor to be cloned, and give multiple clones different profile names It is also available as a free 30-day trial, so it might be worth your while considering.

So, it looks like you have choice between H_M_U Remote Monitor or Actual Multiple Monitors, and that is a choice you did not have before.

Thanks for the info!
I am looking at the Actual Multiple Monitors now. Looks like the Desktop Mirroring may do the job I require.


I must have a very limited Search Vocabulary because I could not seem to find anything that would suit. SO thank you for bringing this to my attention.


But this one: H_M_U Remote Monitor I still cannot find a Direct Link to them. I keep ending up back at the Microsoft Store


I look for this one later today. But if the AMM does the job, then all is good.
