Hi, I have a problem with Windows 7.
On the top of my notebook's keyboard there are some multimedia keys such as "Play, Stop ecc.." and I have a problem with Volume keys.
While I have to tap once on "Vol Up/Down"" to increase/decrease system volume of 10% in Vista, in Windows 7 every tap increases/decreases system volume of 2%.. it is very uncomfortable... Now.. does anyone know how to do in Seven the same thing I do in Vista? :sarc:

Thank you.

Ps: Sorry for bad english.. ;)

First, Welcome to the Windows 7 forums.

Second, before we can help you we will need some information about your laptop. (make / model, Installed RAM, Processor etc.) as well as what flavor of windows 7 you are running (x86 or x64) and the build number.

I am running Windows 7 x86 version, build 7100.

Lee: I created on Vista Recovery Disks (Cd1 contains the OS, Cd2 contains drivers and utilities).
There is an utility (Launch manager) that allows me to modify only two buttons (Bluetooth and Acer Deluxe) but this works only with Vista..
But all multimedia keys are working fine..

If you need more information, ask me ;)

"This is not a current operation system"

When I try to install it I get this error.. Anyway this program lets me configure only two (useless) keys..

Perhaps there is a configuration file for the manager that you can modify. I'll see what I can find out.

.. Anyway this program lets me configure only two (useless) keys..

True, but it also installs the drivers for your volume control. The drivers installed on your system now are more then likely Microsoft drivers . . .

Ok, I downloaded the package from the link I gave you, extracted the files, and found the .inf file that directs the installation.
Its located in WHQL_LH folder.

Use device manager by going to Start -> then type Device Manager in the search box and hit enter.
Find your Multimedia device, then right click and select Properties.
Click on Update Driver Software.
Click on Browse my Computer for Driver Software.
Click on Let Me Pick From a List of Device Drivers on my Computer.
Click on Have Disk . .

Then browse to the location where you unzipped the driver package. Your looking for the WHQL_LH folder.

Select the .inf file LManager and follow the onscreen instructions from there.

This should install the manufacturer drivers for your Quick Keys including the Volume control.

Let me know if this works for you. Any questions, feel free to PM me.
Also, I have subscribed to this thread so any new posts will alert me via email.

Ok, I went back and took a look at your first image, and I'm thinking that it may be the HID - Consumer Control Device.

Before we go further, I want to make sure though.

Ok, thats not it, but I have been talking to a friend, and he wants you to try installing this in Compatibility mode.

Now, just for fun, I went to the file I downloaded (Launch Manager), and ran the setup in Compatibility mode, and I recieved no error.

So how about we try that.

Are you familiar with Compatibility Mode?

Yes, I have just installed the program and it works, but, as known, I can modify only two keys..

I restarted my notebook yesterday and didn't happen anything, today every tap on volume keys increases/decreases general volume of 10%, like in Vista :D:p

Thank you so much Scott, you are very polite and helpful ;)
