Multiple Homegroups?

Why can you not create multiple homegroups on one network? Or is this something that's just hiding from me?

Sure you can create another different homegroup. You might also consider creating a worklike workgroup (less trouble)

Go to Network and Sharing center. Change network type from Home to Public. Click Close.

Click "Change Advanced sharing settings". Click OK or Cancel

Change network type back to "Home" and then press Next. It should create a new Homegroup automatically. At least it worked for me.

Good luck.

All of my systems still run fastest on XP 32-bit for the most part. Win7 is fun to play with, but I still prefer XP for raw speed, security, and functionality.
Ah thanks man, worked flawlessly!

Sounds like my most recent problem but in reverse. I think I have muliti-homegroups on my network accdentally and can't figure out A. how they got there & B. how to get rid of them and just have one.

Earlier, I was finishing all the last shares for my family net and noticed one user was not showing up in HG on the second PC or to the other users of the same machine. I ran HG troubleshooter and everything has gone terrible since then. I did discover that I had workgroup names inconsistant and fixed that. I really need to just clear all homegroups and build one.
