Attempting to uninstall results in a generic error: "An error has occured. Not all of the updates were successfully uninstalled."

I was afraid of that.

It's worth trying an over-the-top install - it may work. Download the stub installer from Download Internet Explorer 9 - Microsoft Windows

and run it - see what happens.

If that fails, then it's likely to be time for a repair install of the OS, and then attempting an install of IE9 again.

Hmmm, the install seemed to work fine, automatically bringing up IE and asking if it wanted me to make it my default browser. However, running the commands above still has the same results.

I cannot claim any expertise in IE, despite using it all the time - nothing ever goes wrong with my installation, so I never had to fix it :)
What I know about Windows Update I had to pick up because of its association with the Software Protection system, rather than any particular interest - and most f it still confuses the heck out of me.

I can definately relate to the being confused part :D

So should I post something in the "Browsers & Mail" section of the forms to see if someone there can further assist?

Thanks,
EWG
