Update and scannow issues after using an Intel Driver software. Help?

Hello, and thank all of you in advance for your help! Last week, I downloaded an Intel driver update software from the Intel site itself, ran it, and was instructed to update a driver. I am sorry, but I did not note the driver that was updated. Upon restarting my machine (all of its specs are listed in the profile), I noticed that it took forever to load. I had just moved over 200 GB of virtual machines and hacking files from the hard drive to an external, ran updates, and defragmented, so the difference was huge; it was loading quite quickly before.

After restarting a few times and meeting the same slow startup, I removed the driver program and all the residuals. Then I restarted my laptop, and it still started a bit slow. I chose to do a system restore, and it failed. Repeatedly. Windows updates also suffered. I ran sfc /scannow to see if anything was amiss, and the return was the message that Windows found some corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

I uploaded the CBS log from that scan here, but it was too big as a text file (at 8MB); therefore it has been compressed and named "derpne_CBS.zip." Would it be possible for someone to look at the log and tell me if there is anything that stands out as being the main issue, or at least an issue I can address from here?

The only other thing I can tell you is that I run IPVanish most of the time, but it has never caused update or download troubles.

Thank you so much for any help anyone can provide.

Hi, Roy! I have uploaded the CBS logs. They have been renamed accordingly. I ran the Standalone Update software first. I had to download and run something called the Windows Update Diagnostic first to make the Standalone Update software work, as it froze and failed a few times.

The SFCFix Tool failed to create a zip, and there were some errors. Thank you for looking at them!

I will find those logs now, Roy, and thank you.

Sadly, I am not surprised at the "Access Denied" entries you might find in any Windows operating system. I have purchased computers from all over, and now I buy clean computers and install a system myself. This computer was configured by another person. This being said, is the "Access Denied" entry(ies) that you found irregular?

Thanks, and I will post back in a bit. I am sorry I do not reply faster.

Here is the CheckSur log, attached.

EDIT: The SFC log should be attached in earlier posts. I just renamed it. Should I do this again?

Hey!

I will run this right now and get a log back in. The computer is running all right, but the startup time is slow, especially considering that it was lightning fast after I moved all the virtual machines and before I used that stupid Intel driver software. Something seems to take a minute to "gel" before I get to the Windows page where I can choose my profile or the Admin profile. And the last time I ran sfc/ scannow, there were still items that could not be fixed.

I will be back in a few!

Again, I really appreciate your help. I would love to learn what to look for in these logs!

EDIT: I ran the file, but I wanted to tell you that the cmd prompt will not accept "sfc /scannow /r" as an option. I could run the scannow, however.

I have attached the SFCFix.exe log. It says that four issues were fixed. I may Google them later to see if I can understand what happened. I ran sfc /scannow afterward, and I received a clean bill of health. "Windows Resources Protection did not find any integrity violations." This is also the first time that it has run and not told me corrupted files could not be fixed.

I added the last CBS log, too.

Thank you so much for your help!
