You are still getting a lot of corrected hardware errors for the PCI Express Root port.

Code:

Driver: n/a

I wonder if you can track down this device in Device Manager and see if the driver is installed or can be updated. It will almost certainly be part of the chipset drivers and you should try to update them. It might also be worth running the HP diagnostic tool to see if this can find and update any of the hardware.

I found "PCI Bus" and "PCI standard host CPU bridge" in Device Manager. There were no yellow alert icons next to them, and when I tried scanning for hardware changes for them, both times I got a "device driver software not successfully installed" message.

I downloaded HP PC Hardware Diagnostics 1.5.6.0 from this page (the first result when I did a search for "HP diagnostic tool"), but I'm not sure if it's the correct program, since I didn't see any options to scan for driver updates when I opened it.

That HP diagnostics should be able to tell you if it detects any problems. What was the result?

Everything under System Tests passed with no reported problems. I wasn't sure whether I needed to run all the tests under Component Tests, but I found "PCIe FE Family Controller" listed under IRQ Test and ROM Test. I ran those tests, and they both passed.

There was an indication the Avast Virtualisation Driver aswSnx.sys was involved in the thread at the time of the crash. As another troubleshooting step please remove Avast and see if it makes a difference. MS Security Essentials can be used instead while testing.

When I closed my laptop without shutting it down beforehand, it didn't seem to go into hibernation mode for a number of minutes. When it finally did, I opened it to find that it had shut itself off. And when I restarted it, I was informed that Windows had encountered an unexpected shutdown. I've attached another set of logs.
