Hi zigzag, yes I agree with you ... like I mentioned on my previous post, I have removed the sxuptp.sys driver from my system.

Still listed and loaded in the newest crash.

By the way, I had two more crashes this morning (see attached files). The two crashes were before I removed the sxuptp.sys driver and before I removed my HDD's and DVD drive.

Yes I know ... as per my post, the latest two crashes occurred before I removed it, waiting for another crash now !

A quick update, I have gone over 24 hours without a crash so far. I have re-connected two of my hard drives (the two WD's), I still have the other two HDD's and the DVD drive disconnected.

Had two more crashes one last night and one more this morning.

I am starting to suspect that my problem is hardware related, maybe something wrong with the Intel SATA/RAID controller in my motherboard. The reason I think this is because as soon as I re-attached two of my HDD's and configured a RAID1 between them I started having crashes again. I just don't know how to confirm this.

These two were caused by two different things. the first was Related to LHidFilt.Sys Logitech SetPoint KMDF HID Filter Driver, the second HIDCLASS.sys

I would start by re-installing the mouse driver.

One more update, I am very frustrated with this issue, way too many crashes.

Today I decided to re-install Windows 7, that way I can eliminate any kind of OS corrupted files.

Here is what I did,

1. Removed additional hard drives for now. I only left my SDD drive and DVD-ROM drive.
2. Reset all my BIOS settings to defaults, and then changed Intel SATA ports to RAID.
3. Installed Windows 7 Pro (x64) from scratch (from original DVD).
4. Reinstalled device drivers (downloaded fresh versions from manufacturer web sites). The drivers I installed were:

• Intel Chipset
• Intel Rapid Storage Technology
• nVidia GeForce GTX 470 Drivers
• JMicron SATA
• Marvell SATA
• Realtek Audio
• Atheros Bluetooth
• Intel PRO 1000 PT Ethernet Adapter
• Logitech MX 1000
• MS Digital Media Keyboard 3000
• ASMedia USB 3.0

I forgot to mention before, I also installed all windows updates available and I also enabled verifier as per the instructions provided earlier.

This crash was Related to nvlddmkm.sys nVidia Display Driver. I would re-install the most driver only, not the entire package.


May also be caused by heat, power, etc.

At this point I am convinced my problem is hardware related, but so far my efforts to find out which piece of hardware is faulty have been fruitless.

One more thing I decided to try today was to remove my EVGA GTX470 graphics adapter out of my system and now I am running with the ASUS P8Z68-V Pro's integrated graphics only. I obviously uninstalled the nVidia drivers and installed Intel's graphics drivers.

Any suggestions on how to find out which piece of hardware is faulty is appreciated. What I have tried so far is running several of the hardware stress test programs out there, like OCCT, prime95, memtest86+, Intel's Processor Diagnostic Tool, and some others, and none of them find any issues nor trigger a crash.

Probably related to your gpu since it works without the card in.

I am not 100% sure that's the case, that the gpu is the problem, my crashes occur at random times, and sometimes there are a few days between crashes. So, right now I am going to run my system without the gpu for a few days and see what happens.

The dmps uploaded point to your video driver. If it isnt the driver, it is probably the video card, heat, or power.

If there isnt a dmp please give us your event viewer logs.

Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:


Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
Expand Custom Views
Click Administrative Events
Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
Upload the .zip file here.
