Music Composer For Windows 7

Not sure what the correct term of the program that I'm looking for would be, but basically, I'm after something will let me create electronic music on my computer. I don't have any midi keyboards, just a laptop with a mouse. I don't have any means to plug my guitar into my computer so something that will let me create music just with Windows 7 would be great!

I downloaded a great iPod Touch app called Beatwave, which is kind of like the Yamaha Teni-ori, and was wondering if anything like this exists for Windows 7?

I would prefer something free as I just want it for arsing about and am not prepared to spend money on something that's probably just a notion with me.

Does anyone remember the program called "Music" on the Playstation? Something like that I'm after. Or even something a bit more sophisticated, but similar to, Mario Paint's music maker.

Cool, thanks for the suggestion.

I was using a program called TuxGuitar yesterday, but the midi sounds aren't great at all.

I did download a few iPod apps and I'll hook my iPod up to my PC later and record sounds that way.
