When I turn my laptop on it goes straight to startup repair. Then it said startup repair cannot repair this computer automaticly so I send information about this problm and hit finish and when I start it back up it goes straight back to startup repair.

Hi, Welcome to Seven forums.

You could try inserting a Windows 7 disc, finding the recovery environment, and opening Command Prompt. Inside command prompt, try chkdsk /r followed by SFC / SCANOW

You might be able to access a command/recovery prompt from the recovery manager, without requiring a disc.

I would say the best bet would be to run System Restore, but the above might work.

You can burn it from your friend's PC. Here's how you do it.

Click on Start -> All Programs -> Maintenance.

Tip: An alternative is to execute recdisc from the Run box or a Command Prompt window. If you do that, you can skip to Step 3 below.

Click on the Create a System Repair Disc shortcut.

Choose your optical disc drive from the Drive: drop-down box.

Insert a blank disc in your optical drive.

Note: An empty CD should be large enough for a System Repair Disc. I created a Windows 7 System Repair Disc on a new Windows 7 32-bit installation and it was only 145MB. If you only have a blank DVD or BD available, that's okay too of course.

Click the Create disc button.

Windows 7 will now create the System Repair Disc on the blank disc you inserted in the previous step. No special disc burning software is required.

After the System Repair Disc creation is complete, Windows 7 displays a dialog box that you can close by clicking the Close button.

Click the OK button back on the original Create a system repair disc window that's now showing up on your screen.

Label the disc as "Windows 7 System Repair Disc" and keep it someplace safe.

Everything that can be done is here for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start including the installer to use for repairs or if necessary a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which you should do anyway if you still have the bloated HP factory preinstalled Win7 which is the worst install one can have.

Other disks are provided to test for infection or advanced repairs which might be indicated. You can use the Win7 installer or Repair CD as well to rescue any files by Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

Some HP's also have a Minimal Recovery option when you boot into HP System Recovery so you could do that in place of the reinstall since it is nearly the same.
