I have the same problem with two of my computers, one old HP laptop and one costume build computer. The costume build is the newest, three years old. I have formatted it two or three times because it bacome slow after very short time. The laptop is about six years I think. The problem started after we installed windows 7.

I hope someone has some good ideas, thanks.

Hey ManJavOen! Welcome to Seven Forums. I see in your hardware description the hardware you are using is good for multitasking and should not make your PC slow. One thing which I noticed, you mentioned that you have formatted the PC 2-3 times. May I ask, do you have multiple partitions and are you just formatting the partition which has OS installed on it or you are formatting the whole disk and making new partitions every time. Because, if you are just formatting a single partition for OS, then there can be some virus, malware left in the other partitions that are making your PC slow again and again. Also, you have not mentioned the antivirus you are using. Run antivirus, anti spyware etc to check for any issues.

If the above mentioned condition is your conditions. Then, try to format the whole disk (keep the data safe in some other disk), make new partitions and install OS. Do not put the data yet in the new partitions and run the PC without that data for few days and then see if you are getting slow PC or not.

Keep us posted......:)

Did you run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to determine how Win7 will run on the hardware? Win7 should always be fast and never hang on adequate hardware as long as you have a perfect install.

Compare the clean install you did to these steps to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

Puran Defrag Free Edition Boot-Time defrag gets at all System files including registry. Schedule the Boot Time Scan with Full Disk Check, after enabling Intelligent Optimizer on Additonal Operations tab.

First run CCleaner Run Cleaner and Registry tab which is always safe.

I'm trying to formate my computer and my harddrive now, so we will see if that helps. thanks for every thing!! :-)
