After my 3 year old son worked on my laptop for a while, its screen couldn't display red colour any more.

I try to reset the colour setting follow these steps:

If you have calibration enabled for display then you may disable calibration loading by Windows. You must be logged on with a user account that has administrative privileges to make the below changes -
1. Open Color Management by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type color management, and then click Color Management.
2. Click the Advanced tab, and click Change system defaults.
3. Click the Advanced tab in the Color Management - System Defaults dialog box, and do one of the following:
- To prevent Windows from loading display calibrations, clear the Use Windows display calibration check box.
4. Click Close in the Color Management - System Defaults dialog box.
5. Click Close in the Color Management dialog box.

However, it doesn't work.

Please help.
Thanks a lot.

Try a System Restore and see if that fixes it. Select a System Restore point that is BEFORE whatever happened.

System Restore can be accessed from Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools. System Restore will not delete any user data or e-mails.

Thanks for the response. I did check my system restore, unfortunately, I have turned it off for a long time. Therefore, in this case, I couldn't use system restore.
Thanks.

Reinstall the proper video driver and see if that helps. Download the driver from the PC vendor, for your specific model.

Use the VGA port and cable to make external display.if the picture in the external monitor is normal, it's your laptop screen dead. Otherwise you have to replace video card or motherboard.
