One day I open my laptop then its just black screen, then i force reset then open again then its ok. It happened few times before it became permanent with no booting at all. Not anything from the screen, not even the windows log in sound, it is not really booting at all.My battery is dead, but I'm still using it. And just bought a new adapter 2 days before it happened. I don't know if its my charger or battery or the source. I try troubleshooting like removing battery and putting on the adapter or vice versa to turn it on, not a luck. Removing battery and adapter and press the power button for a minute. And removing one RAM and switch, but still no. I'm planning to take it to the expert already but if you have any suggestion please let me know. Also, I want to know what causing this. I just bought my 3rd replacement adapter, the second one only lasts for six months. What am I doing wrong that causing my adapters to be broken.
Thanks Guys!

Try looking through this video, he does several tests to troubleshoot the laptop black screen problem. (you may have tried some of them but stick with it and watch through). I have had this problem with 2 laptops now and I know how annoying it can be trying to fix.

  • Try to connect your laptop to an external monitor if the problem persists it could be something related to display has shorted on the motherboard
  • If the laptop is still under warranty, they will fix it but it may cost you.
  • A private computer expert would be able to tell you more but this too will cost you.
  • Have you tried looking on your laptop manufacturers website to see if this is a common issue with your model?
  • The adapters should not cause issue, unless they are not the same as the original (Voltage, Watts and Amps etc.) It is possible a faulty adapter could have caused a short on the motherboard however.
  • It is also possible the flexi wiring between the base and the lid has broken disabling the screen (If this is the case the external monitor test will work and a display will be shown on the monitor screen)

Hope this helps,

Thanks,

Yep, I watched it already. But I did not do about the GPU stuff cuz I dunno what is it, and I'm afraid I could do something to make it worse. :D
Thanks BTW. :)

Hi there.

I've faced this issue myself before, but difference with yours is that I still can move the mouse cursor around and windows just wont go into the desktop. It happened when I reformat my desktop and updated the graphics driver. When I removed it, I am able to go into desktop.

Try to boot up in safe mode and check windows updates if there was a recent graphics driver update.

Can't even go to BIOS man. Nothing really happens, it is openning like the power is on, the fan is running and the light indicators in the power is on but nothing from the screen. Really nothing not even the mouse or the BIOS set up.

Oh then in that case, perform a power cycle for your laptop.

Unplug any accessories. Unplug the power adaptor. remove the battery.
Press and hold the power button down for 30 seconds.

Hopefully, this will at least help to boot up. If successful, try to take note of any beeps, and let us know on your next post.

Hey,

Have you attempted to connect it in some way to an external monitor or TV to see if it displays on one of them. This will help to determine if it is a problem with the screen or other components within the laptop.

Thanks,
